Revlon Taps Estée Lauder Alum to Lead Fragrance Division, Elizabeth Arden Brand

Revlon, a prominent name in the beauty industry, is undergoing significant changes at the executive level, which signals its desire to revitalize and strengthen its brand identity. As part of this transformation, Revlon has appointed Amber Garrison as the new president of Elizabeth Arden and fragrances. Garrison brings an impressive track record from her previous role as global brand president of Origins at Estée Lauder, where she spent over 12 years honing her skills in brand management and consumer engagement. Set to begin her role on October 1 in New York, she is tasked with overseeing a diverse array of fragrance brands, including partnerships with notable figures and names like Ice Spice, Christina Aguilera, and Juicy Couture, among others.

Garrison’s appointment comes at a crucial time for Revlon, which has recently navigated the complex waters of Chapter 11 bankruptcy and turned a new page by moving past the longstanding management of the Perelman family. The restructuring has brought fresh blood into leadership roles, including Michelle Peluso as CEO and Dana Medema as president of North America. This shift aims to foster renewed growth and innovation within the company, and with Garrison on board, Revlon is looking to leverage her expertise to guide its revitalization efforts.

In welcoming Garrison to her new role, Peluso noted that her strategic thinking, brand-building skills, and empathetic approach to understanding consumer needs will be invaluable for the company. Garrison’s arrival is intended to solidify a strong leadership team poised to envision and execute Revlon’s future. As the company aims to unlock the potential of its flagship brands like Elizabeth Arden and its fragrance offerings on a global scale, Garrison’s strategic insights are expected to play a pivotal role.

Despite its recent challenges, Revlon remains a force to be reckoned with in the beauty market. In 2024, it ranked as the 24th-largest beauty manufacturer according to the WWD Beauty Inc Top 100 list, boasting sales figures nearing $2 billion. This year marks Revlon’s first full year in the post-Perelman era, providing an opportunity for the company to establish a new identity and direction. Notably, Revlon has already announced fresh fragrance lines set to launch in the coming years, including collaborations with trendsetters like Ice Spice and luxury streetwear brand Palm Angels, which suggests an effort to connect with younger, trend-conscious consumers.

Garrison expressed her enthusiasm for taking the reins at Elizabeth Arden, emphasizing the brand’s legacy of innovation and scientific advancement. She acknowledges the potential to not only maintain existing consumer loyalty but also to enhance the brand’s appeal and desirability in a competitive marketplace. Her ambition to build on Elizabeth Arden’s historical strengths reflects the broader goal of ensuring Revlon remains relevant and engaging to a diverse audience.

As we look ahead, it’s clear that Revlon is not merely weathering storms but is actively positioning itself for growth and resurgence. The company’s commitment to innovation, coupled with a fresh executive team, sets the stage for a transformative journey. Garrison’s focus on harnessing the power of community and consumer engagement will be crucial, paving the way for Elizabeth Arden and Revlon’s fragrance lines to capture the hearts and minds of consumers around the world.
