London’s luxury fragrance landscape is buzzing with excitement as Mind Games, a renowned perfume house, deepens its collaboration with iconic U.K. retailer Selfridges. This partnership marks a significant step for both companies as they unveil two exclusive fragrances: Playmate and Check Please. Set to launch on Thursday, the fragrances will be showcased in a weeklong immersive installation at Selfridges in London, promising an engaging experience for shoppers. For those unable to attend, the scents will also be available online at mindgamesfragrance.com.

Alex Shalbaf, the founder and CEO of Mind Games’ parent company, The Fragrance Group, hailed this launch as a milestone moment for the brand. He emphasized the synergy between Mind Games and Selfridges, noting that the retailer has a rich history of curating forward-thinking luxury experiences. “This partnership reflects our shared dedication to creativity, artistry, and unforgettable storytelling through fragrance,” Shalbaf remarked, highlighting the collaboration’s artistic vision.

Both fragrances are part of the broader Soulmate collection, featuring complementary olfactory profiles that draw inspiration from chess. This thematic connection infuses the scents with layers of intrigue and elegance, designed to evoke emotions tied to seduction and mastery. From Nov. 24 to 30, campaign imagery for these fragrances will also be displayed in Selfridges’ Birmingham location, followed by an atrium display from Dec. 1 to Jan. 25—further enhancing the fragrances’ presence in the market.

Playmate is a vibrant concoction that melds sweet Italian lemon with creamy coconut milk, and floral notes from water lily, jasmine, and tiare flower. Its base notes of musk, vanilla bean, and golden amber create a comforting yet sophisticated finish. On the other hand, Check Please takes a more gourmand approach, featuring enticing notes of green apple, nougat, and hazelnut, alongside a rich blend of black plum, Bulgarian rose, and spices like cinnamon bark. Priced at £270 for a 100-ml bottle of extrait de parfum, both fragrances represent a luxurious investment in personal scent.

Following a successful launch in the United Arab Emirates earlier this year, Mind Games is eyeing expansion into new markets. The brand has reported a growing global presence, particularly among clients from the Gulf countries and tourists from Europe and Asia. Shalbaf noted that the captivating concept of chess resonates well with a diverse clientele, further indicating the brand’s potential to become a staple in locations like Mexico and Asia. This ongoing expansion signals a bright future ahead for the innovative fragrance line.

As Mind Games continues to craft unique scent experiences, the collaboration with Selfridges serves as a testament to the brand’s commitment to artistry and creativity in perfume-making. With its chess-inspired narrative and luxurious offerings, Mind Games not only enriches the fragrance market but also invites consumers into a realm of storytelling and emotion through scent. The launch of Playmate and Check Please represents more than just new products; it signifies a cultural moment where art, fragrance, and retail converge in a beautifully orchestrated experience.
