Fischersund, the innovative Icelandic fragrance brand and artistic collective, is making its way to Denmark, aligning their presence with the 3DaysofDesign festival happening in Copenhagen. Known for its unique blend of scent, sound, and art, the brand has planned a series of activations throughout the festival, aiming to enchant both locals and visitors. One of the highlights is the unveiling of a hand-stitched flag display at the esteemed fashion and design boutique, Storm, set for Wednesday night. This event signifies Fischersund’s commitment to integrating their aromatic creations into the broader design narrative of Copenhagen.

As the festival progresses into Thursday, attendees can look forward to one of Fischersund’s signature scent concerts held at Hotel Cécile. This 70-minute auditory and olfactory experience will be led by co-founder Jónsi Birgisson of Sigur Rós fame, alongside fellow musicians Kjartan Holm and Sin Fang. This concert exemplifies Fischersund’s philosophy: to create immersive experiences that engage multiple senses, making every participant feel a part of the artistic celebration.

A central component of Fischersund’s participation is their involvement in the design exhibit “The Icelandic Warehouse,” organized by the Embassy of Iceland. This collaboration not only showcases the brand’s fragrances but also highlights their artistic ethos. The festival culminates on Friday with a lively DJ set at Rosforth & Rosforth, a natural wine bar, featuring the same musicians from the scent concert. This eclectic mix of events exemplifies the brand’s commitment to creating a vibrant artistic community where fragrance is interwoven with music and design.

Ingibjörg Birgisdóttir, one of the brand’s co-founders, emphasizes the importance of engaging with the design community in a fresh and creative way. She describes Fischersund as more than just a fragrance brand; it’s a collective of musicians, artists, writers, and designers. By hosting scent concerts, they are pushing the boundaries of what constitutes art, inviting participants to experience fragrance not just as a product, but as an integral part of a multisensory performance.

Founded in 2017, Fischersund emerged from the collaborative spirit of siblings Ingibjörg, Sigurrós, Lilja Birgisdóttir, and Jónsi Birgisson. Each had diverse backgrounds before venturing into perfumery, which adds a rich tapestry of influences to their brand. Their innovative approach intertwines the realms of scent, music, and visual art, redefining how audiences experience fragrance. At the upcoming scent concerts, each attendee will receive a vial of seven unique scents paired with a poem and a flower sculpture, enriching their experience with layers of meaning and reflection.

With the launch of their window display at Storm, Fischersund is not only expanding its retail presence but also fostering a deeper connection within the Scandinavian market. Vanessa Dabich, the brand’s global general manager, highlights the strategic importance of such events in enhancing brand awareness. She sees the collaboration with Storm not merely as a sales opportunity but as a means to engage with consumers and elevate the brand’s status within high-end perfumery in Scandinavia. By merging qualitative and quantitative goals, Fischersund hopes to leave attendees with vivid memories shaped by the interplay of scent, sound, and art, ultimately establishing a lasting footprint in the region.
