How SlowMornings Is Shaking Up the Electrolyte Category With Its Beauty-centric Approach

The Rise of SlowMornings

Introducing SlowMornings, a fresh hydration-focused brand born from the creative minds of Nick DeAngelo and Wilhelmina model Tim Lambert. Launching directly to consumers with their debut product, Hydration + Collagen Drink Mix, this innovative brand offers 30 convenient on-the-go sticks at $49 each. With a refreshing Strawberry Lemonade flavor, the drink mix combines the benefits of marine collagen peptides, electrolytes like magnesium and potassium, and essential vitamins, promising not just hydration but also skin health. SlowMornings aims for a remarkable $4 million in sales during its inaugural year, setting the stage for a promising future in the competitive wellness market.

A Personal Journey of Inspiration

The inception of SlowMornings traces back to DeAngelo’s personal experience with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), a condition that emphasizes the need for electrolytic balance in daily life. Following his journey, DeAngelo began crafting electrolyte-rich formulas at home to improve his and his sister’s health. After overcoming challenges like unappetizing flavors and the hassle of measuring ingredients, he had a ‘lightbulb moment.’ Early in the morning, as the world paused, he envisioned a product that could enhance hydration while also catering to beauty, and he instantly thought of his neighbor and surfing buddy, Tim Lambert. This fusion of personal experience and friendship became the driving force behind SlowMornings.

Differentiating in a Crowded Market

In a landscape filled with traditional electrolyte brands typically catering to athletes, SlowMornings adopts a more nurturing, beauty-oriented approach. The duo recognized an underserved demographic: everyday individuals seeking hydration that transcends high-intensity workouts. DeAngelo emphasizes that they wanted to create something for people who lead normal, active lives, not just for marathon runners. This fresh perspective on health and wellness, viewed through the lens of beauty and self-care, allows SlowMornings to stand apart in a saturated marketplace, appealing to those who value both function and aesthetics.

Crafting an Engaging Visual Identity

The brand’s visual identity reinforces this softer approach. Lambert, with over a decade of modeling expertise, envisioned a campaign that transcends typical sports branding, inviting consumers into a world of beauty and tranquility. His obsession with creating captivating imagery reflects a desire for consumers to lose themselves in the visuals, evoking an emotional connection to the product. This artistic focus reflects their commitment to not only promote hydration but also resonate with customers on a personal level. Each image aims to tell a story, capturing the essence of what SlowMornings stands for.

Community-Centric Development Strategy

At the heart of SlowMornings is its dedication to community involvement. Before launching, the brand conducted a thorough survey of over 500 women to gauge what they want in terms of ingredients and flavors. The resulting feedback informed the creation of their first product, which features collagen for beauty benefits and the popular Strawberry Lemonade flavor. Lambert stresses the importance of authenticity in their approach, co-creating with the community rather than dictating preferences. This commitment to listening and adapting allows SlowMornings to cultivate a genuine relationship with its customers, who can actively participate in the brand’s journey.

Expanding Connections and Building Community

Looking ahead, SlowMornings plans to amplify its community presence through product sampling and events in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Austin. By fostering personal interactions and creating engaging opportunities, they aim to strengthen their following and gain valuable insights from their audience. Each product will include a QR code, inviting customers to join a focus group and share their thoughts. This innovative feedback mechanism ensures that SlowMornings remains responsive to its consumers’ needs and preferences, solidifying its commitment to not just hydration, but a holistic wellness experience that resonates deeply with its community.
