Kiss Beauty Group has recently announced its acquisition of Chillhouse, an innovative brand celebrated for its flagship salon located in SoHo, New York, and its popular line of press-on nails. The partnership aims to bolster Chillhouse’s growth through enhanced digital and retail support, alongside substantial financial backing. Despite this significant change, Chillhouse will continue to operate independently, led by its existing corporate team and maintaining its unique brand identity and voice that has resonated with customers. This approach ensures that the essence and experiential offerings of Chillhouse, particularly its flagship in SoHo, remain intact and appealing to its dedicated consumer base.

J. Paul Yang, the chief strategy officer of Kiss Beauty Group, emphasized that one of the main motivations behind acquiring Chillhouse was its distinct identity within the nail care industry. He noted that Chillhouse has cultivated a brand known for its cultural relevance, creative design, and an enthusiastic community of consumers. Yang’s comments reflect a deep respect for Chillhouse, highlighting their compelling vision and the leadership of founder Cyndi Ramirez-Fulton. This acquisition represents a strategic move aimed at not just supporting Chillhouse but also contributing to the future of modern nail care.

Chillhouse, founded by Cyndi Ramirez-Fulton, a first-generation Latina entrepreneur, began as a nail studio and self-care destination in 2017. The brand found its footing during the COVID-19 pandemic as consumers turned to at-home alternatives for nail care due to salon closures. This resulted in Chillhouse’s launch of the Chill Tips, a line of abstract press-on nails that gained immense popularity on social media platforms like TikTok, demonstrating a strong consumer trend towards creative, accessible nail solutions. The Chill Tips, priced at $14 per pack, offered a variety of choices, which resonated well with a younger consumer demographic seeking self-expression.

In addition to its nail offerings, Chillhouse expanded its brand in 2021 to include a collection of face and body care products that emphasized holistic self-care, aptly named “Chill Body.” This range features items like body oils, bath soaks, and long-lasting nail polish that replicates the durability of gel polish without the need for UV lamps. Such innovation showcases Chillhouse’s commitment to providing quality self-care products that encourage consumers to embrace beauty in an effortless and convenient way.

The flagship location in SoHo recently underwent significant renovations to transform it into a comprehensive self-care spa that now offers an array of services, including massages, facials, and even a café. Ramirez-Fulton expressed excitement about partnering with Kiss Beauty Group, emphasizing that the collaboration would provide Chillhouse with the necessary resources for expansion without losing its creative independence. The alignment between both entities reflects their shared goal of nurturing a generational beauty brand rooted in community, culture, and innovation.

With over three decades of experience, Kiss Beauty Group has built a reputation for its several successful brands, including Impress and Kiss Colors and Care, which are available in retail outlets across 100 countries. This acquisition not only grants Chillhouse a wider platform for its products but also allows it to tap into the operational expertise of a well-established beauty conglomerate. The new partnership aims to propel both brands forward, creating exciting opportunities in the realm of beauty while staying true to the core values that define them. Together, they hope to redefine the future landscape of nail care and self-care products, ensuring that creativity and culture remain at the forefront.
