EXCLUSIVE: Josie Maran Launches Fragrance Mists

A year after revamping her namesake beauty brand, Josie Maran is excited to introduce a fresh category to her lineup: fragrance mist. Known as a trailblazer in “clean” beauty, Maran initially launched her brand in California in 2007, centered around the nourishing powers of argan oil. In February 2024, she reintroduced her popular products exclusively at Sephora, highlighting new scents and a commitment to sustainability with refillable packaging. Among the products are the 100% Pure Argan Oil, Sugar and Argan Oil Body Scrub, and the Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter, which has garnered attention on TikTok for its uniquely satisfying refill experience.

In creating her latest products, Maran partnered with renowned perfumer Jérôme Epinette, focusing on developing sophisticated fragrances crafted solely from natural ingredients. This commitment to clean beauty led her to reimagine four signature scents as stand-alone mists. Each fragrance is designed not just to smell great, but also to contribute to skin hydration and overall well-being, reflecting Maran’s ethos of blending beauty with health.

The new mists, priced at $26 each, combine natural scents with nourishing elements such as argan oil and jojoba. Alongside a milky blend that locks moisture in, the ingredients are intended to enhance the longevity of the fragrances, making them a luxurious and conscientious choice. This innovative approach aligns with Maran’s belief that effective beauty products should also be healthy. The explorable scent profiles of the mists cater to a variety of preferences, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Golden Hour is crafted with an intriguing blend of bergamot, jasmine, lily petals, vanilla bean, santal, musk, and amber, evoking warmth and comfort. Then there’s Anilla Vibezzz, which features fresh notes like bergamot, juniper berries, violet, cedarwood, and vanilla, giving it a playful essence. Topless Tangerine radiates with zesty flavors such as yuzu, tangerine, pink grapefruit, black currant, pineapple, and brown sugar, while Bohemian Fig presents a more earthy composition with orange, bergamot, lemon, vanilla orchid, tonka beans, and vetiver. Each fragrance tells its own story and invites a unique sensory experience.

Available first on Sephora.com and JosieMaran.com, the new fragrance mists are a part of Maran’s broader mission to redefine beauty standards with sustainable practices. As the products gradually roll out to Sephora stores, industry experts predict impressive sales, estimating that the launch could generate around $10 million. This notable figure underscores the growing consumer demand for clean beauty and thoughtful formulations, allowing Maran to solidify her position in the market.

Looking ahead, Maran is enthusiastic about future endeavors, hinting at even more exciting launches scheduled for next year. Her relentless drive to innovate while adhering to her brand’s core values speaks volumes about her dedication not only to beauty but to responsible practices as well.
