Interparfums SA Unveils Solférino Paris: A Fragrance That Celebrates Parisian Charm

Interparfums SA, a prominent player in the fragrance industry, is set to make waves with the launch of its new home-grown fragrance brand, Solférino Paris. This fresh venture not only honors the company’s Parisian roots but also aims to capture the essence of the city through scent. Located at 10 Rue de Solférino in the historic 7th arrondissement, the headquarters of Interparfums has a storied history, having once served as the Socialist Party’s headquarters. Acquired in 2021, this grand building boasts approximately 40,000 square feet of artistic space, reflecting an architectural legacy since its construction in 1772.

At the heart of this initiative is Philippe Benacin, Interparfums’ chairman and CEO, who recognized the burgeoning market for fragrance collections. As retailers expand their offerings in this category, Benacin was inspired to launch a line that embodies the allure of his company’s new home. He believes that having the Solférino headquarters provides a fitting backdrop to a brand that aspires to narrate the rich history and culture of Paris through its fragrances. This concept sparked a creative journey toward establishing Solférino Paris, blending historical resonance with modern luxury.

Crafted with the aim to establish a niche in the perfume market, the Solférino Paris line features ten gender-neutral eaux de parfum, each designed to evoke a distinct Parisian moment. From a starlit midnight to a romantic stolen kiss, the fragrances invite wearers to immerse themselves in the enchanting atmosphere of the city. Victoria Scalia, marketing director of Solférino Paris, emphasized the inspiration derived from the magnificent building itself and the intent to weave stories of Parisian life into each scent. The project is a celebration of not just the city but also the artistic spirit embodied within the historic walls of Solférino.

Each fragrance in the collection is the result of collaboration with renowned master perfumers who were given a key ingredient to build upon. This creative freedom led to unique compositions. For example, the scent "Rêverie Sur Seine," created by Nathalie Lorson from Dsm-firmenich, highlights a serene neroli note, while "10, Solférino," developed by Antoine Maisondieu from Givaudan, is built around a rose note—an homage to the Socialist Party’s emblem. These diverse olfactory experiences reflect the depth of Paris’s rich tapestry, from the warmth of woody undertones to the flirtatious essence of floral notes.

The packaging of Solférino Paris fragrances embodies artistic flair, with curved facets and a delicate white label that evokes architectural details reminiscent of the headquarters. A green grosgrain ribbon adorns each bottle, aligning with the elegant aesthetics of Parisian design. The line caters to various consumers with two bottle sizes: a 125 ml priced at 260 euros and a 70 ml at 160 euros. Furthermore, discovery sets and candles extend the brand’s reach into the realm of lifestyle products. As Solférino Paris prepares to launch a flagship boutique at 310 Rue Saint-Honoré, the brand seeks to cement its place in the bustling fragrance landscape of Paris.

In its initial rollout, Solférino Paris will debut exclusively at Publicis Drugstore in Paris, with further expansion planned at Selfridges in London. By Spring 2026, the brand aims to be available at around 100 retail locations. Each scent will be presented on a dedicated display that maps out Paris’s notable landmarks, allowing customers to personalize their fragrance experiences with illustrations. The strategic launch is projected to generate approximately 10 million euros in retail sales within the first year, as Interparfums is determined to carve out a significant niche within the fragrance market, alongside its existing portfolio of renowned brands such as Jimmy Choo and Lacoste.

As Solférino Paris prepares to unveil its collection, it stands as a testament to the interplay between historical legacy and modern innovation. Each fragrance is crafted not only to capture the allure of the city but also to foster a deeper connection with the timeless spirit of Paris. With storytelling at the heart of its mission, Solférino Paris encourages individuals to embrace the romance and vibrancy of the city with every spritz, creating a fragrance experience inspired by the rich cultural mosaic that defines Paris.
