A Celebration of Pride and Advocacy: Lady Gaga’s Haus Labs Partners with Sephora

As Pride Month arrives, Lady Gaga’s beauty brand, Haus Labs, is taking significant steps to support the LGBTQIA+ community through a heartwarming initiative titled “We Belong to Something Beautiful.” This collaboration with Sephora runs from June 1 to June 30, with every purchase from Haus Labs at Sephora contributing $1 toward the Born This Way Foundation. Co-founded by Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Bissett Germanotta, in 2012, this non-profit organization is dedicated to promoting youth mental health and wellness. It embodies the spirit of inclusivity and support for young people, particularly those from the LGBTQIA+ community, reinforcing the importance of acceptance and kindness.

The campaign’s reach extends across 20 markets globally, including countries like Canada, France, Germany, and the United States. This initiative not only raises funds but also serves as a powerful reminder of the beauty and strength within the LGBTQIA+ community. Donations will flow into the Kindness in Community Fund, which supports grassroots organizations dedicated to the welfare of LGBTQIA+ youth. Gaga has emphasized the role of community support and the essential need for safe spaces, especially for young individuals navigating their identities. Through this initiative, anyone can nominate a deserving organization to receive part of the funds, creating a ripple effect of positivity and support that extends beyond just financial contributions.

Gaga’s commitment to the cause shines through her personal narrative and the mission of the Born This Way Foundation. Her understanding of the intersection of beauty and belonging resonates deeply with the values of the campaign. Angela Simpson, Haus Labs’ chief marketing officer, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of celebrating the unique aspects of every individual and the need to support young people’s mental health. The focus is not solely on fundraising but also on fostering a sense of community where everyone can feel valued and understood. This initiative further emphasizes that beauty is not just skin-deep; it’s about the feelings of acceptance and connection that we cultivate together.

Central to this campaign is Lady Gaga herself, whose presence adds both star power and authenticity. She features prominently in campaign materials, including a heartfelt short video that articulates her views on beauty, belonging, and inclusivity. This personal touch is crucial, offering a relatable voice to the global beauty community. Deborah Yeh, Sephora’s global chief marketing officer, described Gaga’s involvement as an extraordinary testament to their shared values of acceptance and identity. The stories and experiences shared through this campaign aim to inspire individuals to embrace their uniqueness and cultivate self-confidence.

Sephora’s “We Belong to Something Beautiful” brand signature first emerged in 2019, aiming to propel change within the beauty industry. This Pride Month initiative represents a natural evolution of that mission, merging testimonies and personal stories to emphasize acceptance and community. Yeh highlighted the power of personal stories in advocating for self-acceptance, stressing the vital role beauty and community play in enhancing one’s sense of self-worth. This campaign offers an opportunity for individuals to see themselves represented, bridging the gap between beauty and the broader societal conversations around identity and acceptance.

In addition to the campaign’s digital and global efforts, Sephora will host in-person experiences throughout June, providing makeovers to clients celebrating Pride Month. This hands-on approach reinforces the idea that beauty is a collective experience, one that thrives in community. Haus Labs’ collaboration with Sephora not only aims to raise funds for a noble cause but also strives to create an atmosphere where everyone feels empowered to express themselves authentically. This initiative stands as a reminder that beauty, in all its forms, is something that everyone belongs to—something truly beautiful.
