EXCLUSIVE: Following Her Own Infertility Journey, Demi Schweers Is Launching Hormone Health Brand Iris Nutrition

In 2022, Demi Schweers opened up about her painful journey with infertility on social media, capturing the attention and support of many. Fast forward three years, and she has built a robust community of 382,000 followers on Instagram. With that foundation, Demi is set to launch her own hormone health brand, Iris Nutrition, aimed at providing essential support for women navigating similar struggles. As she rightly puts it, hormone health is a conversation that deserves daily attention—not just when trying to conceive. This shift reflects a growing awareness of the importance of maintaining hormonal balance at all stages of life.

Iris Nutrition officially launches as a direct-to-consumer brand and will be available on Amazon, starting with an Electrolyte Drink Mix priced at $60. The product is offered in mouthwatering flavors like Blood Orange Blackberry and Lemon Raspberry, making it easier for women to incorporate into their daily routine. Schweers named her brand after the Greek goddess Iris, who symbolizes communication and hope, beautifully linking it to her personal journey. It’s also a heartfelt tribute to her daughter, a “double rainbow baby” born after experiencing two miscarriages.

Demi’s journey to this point was fraught with challenges—from infertility and a heartbreaking miscarriage to discovering she had PCOS and eventually turning to IVF. Throughout this period, managing her hormone health became paramount. She realized she was spending over $400 a month on vitamins and supplements, which only deepened her understanding of the need for better solutions in this space. This realization sparked the desire to create something more accessible and beneficial for women facing similar hurdles.

Her co-founder, Allison Escovedo Owen, shares a similar story of struggling with PCOS since her teenage years. During her own experiences with the healthcare system, she received little guidance beyond birth control pills, which felt like a one-size-fits-all solution. Armed with her background in consumer packaged goods, Owen joined forces with Schweers to develop a product that truly addresses women’s hormone health needs. Their creation is a carefully formulated powder drink mix containing vital ingredients like vitamin B6, magnesium, and a blend of inositols to support ovarian function.

A significant part of their plan is to create a product that’s not just effective but also easy to incorporate into busy lives. Recognizing that many women are overwhelmed and confused about their health, the duo opted for a convenient drink format rather than traditional pills. They conducted extensive testing to find flavors that not only taste great but also resonate with their target audience. Their approach reflects a thoughtful consideration of women’s daily routines and the importance of hydration in maintaining overall well-being.

While Iris Nutrition begins with a focus on women of childbearing age, both Schweers and Owen have dreams to expand their product line to cover various stages of women’s health journeys. Their ultimate goal is to establish Iris as a one-stop shop for women seeking to manage their hormonal health, catering to different needs as they evolve through life. With a strong foundation built on personal experience and community feedback, this brand aims to become a trusted resource in the world of women’s health, reassuring every woman that they don’t have to navigate their journey alone.
