EXCLUSIVE: Experiential Wellness Concept 113 Spring Opens in SoHo With a Focus on Cognitive Longevity

A new wellness oasis, 113 Spring, has opened its doors in SoHo, dedicated to promoting overall well-being and mindfulness. This innovative concept presents an ever-evolving theme centered around mindfulness and cognitive longevity, kicking off with its inaugural theme: "Presence Is the Present." The wellness destination is driven by an impressive advisory board that includes renowned experts like neuroscientist Dr. Jennifer Garrison and internal medicine specialist Dr. Evelyne Bischof, ensuring that every experience is backed by scientific insights. Through these carefully curated programs, 113 Spring aims to provide visitors with a unique blend of treatment options that adapt to contemporary needs while fostering a deeper connection to oneself.

The approach at 113 Spring is dynamic; the theme will shift every four to six months, mirroring the natural cycles of the environment. As Melissa Bunning, the director of programming and partnerships, notes, the constant evolution allows for the introduction of cutting-edge technologies and groundbreaking wellness experiences. This model not only keeps the space fresh and engaging but also aligns with the ever-changing journey of individual wellness. Each transformation in the theme leads to variations in the layout, treatments, and product offerings, allowing visitors to continuously discover something new every time they visit.

Further emphasizing the connection with nature, Anne-Rachel Schiffmann, the lead architect, designed the space to be modular and adaptable, reflecting the natural world’s cyclical patterns. It is a space that acknowledges the permanence of nature while celebrating its constant change, inviting visitors to find peace and inspiration amidst the shifting surroundings. This philosophy of embracing the cyclical nature of life also paves the way for innovative treatments that respond to guests’ needs and aspirations for improved well-being.

To exemplify this forward-thinking approach, 113 Spring introduces intriguing experiences such as Mind-Scent and Emergence. Mind-Scent is a unique offering where technology meets personal wellness: using AI, it curates personalized scents based on user surveys, offering a tailored olfactory experience. Meanwhile, Emergence combines a neurosensory meditation session with a device that monitors brain activity, creating a profound engagement with one’s mental state. This blend of scent and neuroscience not only enriches the wellness journey but fosters deeper self-awareness for guests, giving them insights into how emotional and cognitive processes can be influenced by their environment.

In addition to these immersive experiences, 113 Spring serves as a hub for community events, hosting classes from flower arranging to tea tasting. These opportunities allow guests to engage with one another and foster a sense of community centered around wellness. Available both by advance booking and walk-in, the events offer flexibility for visitors to partake in unique experiences that enhance their understanding of wellness and mindfulness.

The retail section at 113 Spring showcases a curated collection overseen by Celia Ellenberg, a former Vogue beauty and wellness director. Here, shoppers will find a diverse range of wellness products, some surprising and unique, such as an upscale toothpaste squeezer and a brainband designed for mental enhancement. Alongside these high-end items, affordable wellness solutions, like vitamin patches, ensure that there’s something for everyone. Guests can take home not just products, but also knowledge, with books that encourage mindfulness and reflection, solidifying 113 Spring’s commitment to being a comprehensive wellness destination. Embedded within this unique setting is the Bloom Café, which offers healthy food and beverages created by leading culinary experts, emphasizing that wellness extends beyond mental health to nourish the body as well.
