All the Details Behind Rain Spencer’s The Summer I Turned Pretty Premiere Hair

Rain Spencer, known for her role as Belly’s best friend Taylor in “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” truly brought a piece of the beach to the red carpet at the season three premiere in New York City. Her hair, styled in effortless, beachy waves, evoked the carefree vibes of a stunning East Coast shoreline. As she stepped out in a striking metallic silver gown, her look perfectly balanced the glam with a relaxed charm that made a statement all its own.

The mastermind behind this look, hairstylist David Von Cannon, emphasized that the goal was not to create a matchy-matchy aesthetic. Instead, he aimed for a striking contrast, allowing Spencer’s hair to counterbalance the structured, glamorous feel of her gown. In an interview with Allure, he shared his philosophy: “I wanted to create a bit of contrast, playing up the glamour and structure of the dress while maintaining a polished yet laid-back texture.” This approach expertly highlighted Spencer’s silhouette, ensuring that her hair could shine without overshadowing the elegance of her outfit.

To achieve the polished-yet-effortless vibe, Von Cannon utilized a variety of Paul Mitchell products to prep Spencer’s naturally rooty blonde hair. Starting with the Extra-Body Sculpting Foam, he focused on creating soft volume. Then, armed with an Express Ion Aluminum Round Brush and a Neuro Dry+ Blow Dryer, he worked on smoothing and adding gentle bends to the hair, creating that desirable beach-inspired look.

Once the base was set, Von Cannon turned to the Neuro Curl+ Ceramic Curling Iron, using its 1.25-inch size to craft those relaxed bends. The goal was to achieve a look that felt both polished and carefree. The finishing touches included the Super Skinny Serum to add a glossiness that complemented the gown beautifully, along with Hot Off the Press Thermal Protection Hairspray to ensure everything stayed in place throughout the evening.

The overall effect was a hairdo that harmonized perfectly with the dazzling metallic gown while embodying that quintessential summer ease. Spencer’s look not only drew compliments on the red carpet but also set a trend for glamorous yet laid-back hairstyles. The collaboration between Spencer and Von Cannon proved that you can marry polish with a certain relaxed quality, creating an appealing visual juxtaposition.

Ultimately, Spencer’s red carpet appearance serves as a reminder of the beauty found in balancing glamour with a sense of self. Her beachy waves and stunning gown not only showcased her style prowess but also made a compelling statement about the flexibility of fashion, where comfort and elegance can coalesce effortlessly. This night was not just about attending an event but truly embodying a spirit that resonates with fans and fashion lovers alike, reinforcing why Spencer is such a captivating presence both on-screen and off.
